Imago Dei publishes personal Bible studies, not official church teaching. They're written by individuals, in one voice, working through Scripture in good faith — not handed down by a denomination, seminary, or governing body. Read them alongside your own Bible, your own church or fellowship, and people you trust.

Not pastoral, medical, or professional advice

Nothing here replaces pastoral care, professional counselling, or medical or legal advice. The Long Road track in particular sits with grief, doubt, and hard seasons without rushing to fix them — if you're in crisis or need ongoing support, please reach out to a pastor, counsellor, or someone in your community, not a website.

Translation and interpretation

Scripture is quoted from the World English Bible (WEB) unless a study says otherwise. Where we explain a Hebrew or Greek word, discuss a manuscript question, or draw on a historical voice, that reflects the author's own study and judgment. Serious, careful people read the same passages differently — we try to say so honestly rather than flatten the disagreement.

Deep Study track

Deep Study draws on original languages, textual history, and voices from the wider Christian tradition. It's written to be rigorous, not to be the final word. Citations of historical writers or scholars aren't an endorsement of everything they held, and original-language notes are a study aid, not a claim to expertise beyond what the text supports.

Our own perspective

These studies are written from a particular vantage point — African-centered, and reacting against a prosperity-shaped reading of the Bible we think doesn't hold up. We say this so you can weigh it, not hide it. Test what you read here against Scripture itself.
